Supa Swap The Silver Screen - supaswap-films.com

Tim Burton shows what he does best with another dark creepy, scary tale and he has teamed up again with Jonny Depp to star in it. Again his wife Helena Bonham Carter gets a role in the film together with a major role for Michelle Pfeiffer.

Dark Shadows is a remake of a 70s US TV series which features an eighteenth century vampire Barnabas Collins who is played by Johnny Depp. He had been entombed for 200 years by the evil sorceress Angelique who is played by Eva Green.

Typical Burton

Well this vampire gets back in touch with his descendants and helps to get their business, a fish cannery in the 70s back on track.Does this sound weird enough yet. Well I am sure you can work out that it s not quite that simple or mundane, and Depp and Burton bring their own particular talents to the project with some truly hilarious moments and one off lines.

SupaSwap gives it a tentative 6.5 out of 10, worth a watch but not the best Depp movie ever.

I am on a bit of a Super Hero kick at the moment. No that does not mean I am running round the house with my underpants on over my trousers, my girlfriend would laugh too much. I am actually very excited about the new release of The Avengers.

I have been waiting for this film for so long, ever since the end of Iron Man 2 and we were tempted to the possibility of a joint Super Hero movie. Recent movies have also been tempting us especially the great recent movie Captain America. (I can not believe how lucky Chris Evans is to have played two super Heroes, although this has to be his best.)

Nick Fury from SHIELD, played by Samuel L Jackson is putting together a a team to fight the evil Loki and his Army who you may have remembered from the film Thor.

What a Line Up

So who is in the line up, well I have already mentioned Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr. , Captain America played by Chris Evans and Thor played by Captain Kirks dad Chris Hemsworth. As well as these you have The Hulk played by Mark Ruffalo, Black Widow played by Scarlett Johansson and Hawkeye played by Jeremy Renner.

The special effects of this film are amazing and there is a 3D version available.

I can not recommend this film enough. It is truly edge of your seat material. We are all going for an office outing from SupaSwap, which means I get to see it twice. Yippee!!

Harrison Ford

As amazing as it seems none of the Star Wars movies have not been voted the best Sci-Fi movie of all time.

This title was given to Blade Runner which was made back in 1982.

Riley Scott's gritty movie staring Harrison Ford has always been seen as bit of a cult classic but initially it really struggled to do well at the box office.

The Empire Strikes back did however come second and we have to pay credit to the Str Wars movies that set a whole new standard for movies of this genre since the release of the original movie back in 1977.

2001 A Space Odyssey made it to third place, and who can forget that creepy voice of HAL.

So here is the top ten, a few Supa Swap favorites in there:

  1. Blade Runner (1982)
  2. Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
  3. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
  4. Alien (1979)
  5. Star Wars  New Hope (1977)
  6. ET: The Extra Terrestrial (1982)
  7. Aliens (1986)
  8. Inception (2010)
  9. The Matrix (1999)
  10. The Terminator (1984)

Harry Potter

It would be very a mis in our Supa Swap blog on films not to mention that this week is the release of the Last harry Potter Film.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 premiers this week and the stars of the film bid the franchise a tearful fair well in Trafalgar Square in London.

Red Carpet Event

Radcliffe, Watson and Grint were joined by the original books author J K Rowling for the red carpet event before the screening of the last film, where they spent nearly 3 hours signing autographs.

It has been 10 years since the first film and Radcliffe has been playing the boy wizard since the age of 11. The Potter film seriese has raised more than £4bn worldwide.

Harry Potter and the Deathly hallows II is on general release on 15th July and it really does not matter what we think of if, you are all going to see it anyway. We hope you have a great time.
